WebJunction Illinois

We are indeed still on the road with the fourth round of our Community Partner program at WebJunction. Just back from Springfield, IL where we visited with state library staff and consultants about the new WebJunction Illinois, coming this summer to a community near you! The team launching this new WJ service was an absolute pleasure to spend time with today, and it’s not just because the home-baked cake was so–ooo-ooo tasty! I’m telling you, these people are on the ball. We had extremely substantive and action-oriented discussions about open, collaborative spaces for library staff on the web. This team is energized and excited about collaborative and social tools, and they’re itching to move forward on everything from shared calendars to blogs and even a few rockin’ new ideas for our wiki. I look forward to working with Lisa, Dawne, and everyone in the state library to offer this service to help support library staff and library development work in Illinois. Those of you waiting for the site to come up … they’re asking for your help and for a lot of feedback. Please, tell them what you want it to be!
Our staff photographer was not with us on this trip, so you’ll have to deal with my pictures from the trusty old treo. Super fabulous side benefit of coming to Springfield? Seeing our old colleague Brendan Levy, now in med school (we miss you Brendan!). Now, on to Maine!
