MaintainIT and WebJunction have partnered the past six months to bring you the MaintainIT Cookbook webinars, and I wanted to be sure folks know about the series of 30 minute sessions (they are archived on WJ!) and about the other webinars facilitated by many MaintainIT Cookbook contributors.
On Wednesday October 8th at 11 AM Pacific/2 PM Eastern, Brenda Hough will be presenting a session, Using MaintainIT Resources for Technology Training.
If you train library staff to use technology you won’t want to miss this free train-the-trainer event. She’ll be talking about resources for trainers and share info about training happening in the field.
And be sure to get the next 30 minute session on your calendar for Thursday, October 16, 11:00 AM Pacific/2 PM Eastern: Get Your Game On: Quick Tips to Start a Gaming Program in Your Library.
Join Lori Reed, Employee Learning Coordinator at the Public Library of Charlotte and Mecklenburg, as she interviews Beth Gallaway in this fast-paced and interactive session introducing the idea of gaming programs in libraries. Take 30 minutes out of your day to learn from the experiences of others and get something started. Beth Gallaway was named a Library Journal Mover & Shaker in 2006 for her work in advocating for videogames in libraries. She is an independent library trainer/consultant specializing in gaming, technology, and youth services, and is a YALSA certified Serving the Underserved (SUS) trainer. Visit her website at http://informationgoddess.info. Please come!
Then on October 28 9:00 AM Pacific/12 PM Eastern join the MaintainIT Book Club for a discussion about Print Management to learn how libraries make sure patrons print what they need, and keep reams of print waste to a minimum. Read the Cookbook chapter before you attend the free webinar.
And while you’ve got your calendar up, the following 30 minute session will be held on November 11 at 11 AM Pacific/2 PM Eastern…more details to come!
