Banned Books Week Celebrations

Sarah Washburn’s post on The September Project blog reminded me that it’s time find out what libraries are doing this year to celebrate our various freedoms and especially our freedom to read. In addition to the September Project libraries, check out some of the other ways you can raise awareness about Banned Books Week, September 26-October 3:
- ALA’s Banned Books Week site including free downloads and display ideas.
- BannedBooksWeek.org has an excellent list of what you can do.
- Read these School Library Journal articles on books about book banning and how some libraries and bookstores are celebrating this year.
- I loved this banned books week challenge from a new blogger: read an old favorite and something newly banned.
- And of course there’s a group for Banned Books Week on Facebook…become a fan!
